Bhajiya also called as pakoda in Hindi is famous in north and south India. In Hyderabad people call onion Bhaji as pakodi. Pakodi are made with onions, they are more delicious. Onion Bhaji is an entirely different snack, which totally reduces the hunger. It’s an easy preparation food; you need onions and gram flour to prepare it. Pakodi is generally used as a topping on various meals. You can eat it with food, or eat it as a snack. Most of the cooking beginners start their recipe preparation with onion Bhaji. Onion Bhaji is not only popular in India, its also popular in other countries. UK people love Indian food, their favorite snack is onion Bhaji. Onion Bhaji can be prepared with round onions or chopped onions. Onion Bhaji can be prepared with red gram flour and wheat flour. It’s good to use double refined groundnut oil while preparing onion Bhaji. Sunflower refined oil can also be used. There will be a variation in pakodi taste if sunflower oil is used.
Ingredients:
Onions 2
Vinegar 1/2cup
Cumin powder 1tsp
Gram flour 2/3 cup
Turmeric 1/2tsp
Chili powder 1/2tsp
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil 1 quart

Onion pakodi can be served with salad. Onion pakodi can be served with any pickle, or with slice of lemon. Mango chutney and onion Bhaji combination is the best.
Preparation:
Take the gram flour in a vessel, and pour some water into it.
Add some red chili powder and salt to that gram flour.
Stir it well and try to prepare a thick solution.
Main Cooking:
Put a pan on stove and pour oil into it. Oil should be more in quantity.
Before the oil gets heated, chop onions nicely into lengthy pieces.
See that the height of those pieces is more, while their width is less.
Put those onions into the flour solution.
Stir it well, and allow onions to get the flour on them.
Check whether the oil is heated or not.
Now put the flour dipped onions into the oil pan.
Allow these onions to turn dark brown and remove them from pan.
Now onion Bhaji is ready to be served.
If you wish to reduce the oil, absorbed by Bhaji put them on an oil absorbent paper.
Presentation:
You can serve Bhaji in a steel plate along with mango pickle. Onion pakodi can also be served with tamarind chutney; you can also use sauce along with onion pakodi.
