Chutney Recipes


Chutney is one of the most widely accepted dishes in India. Raw coriander chutney recipes are favorite of Indians because of the tangy taste and can be used with idlis/dosas and various other tiffins. Adding more flavors make chutney recipes even tastier. The spices that could be used include ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg etc. use of fruits like mango, tamarind, apricot etc brings special taste to chutney. Garlic and onion add a special aroma to the dish and the chutneys will last for around 10 days in refrigerator without any bad smell. Adding acid or vinegar will add to the life of the chutney.

The main ingredients for chutney recipes are fresh coriander leaves, green chillies, tamarind paste, salt, sugar, mustard seeds, black gram and oil.

Chop coriander leaves after a thorough wash. After this, grind the ingredients. Heat oil in a pan and fry the mustards and black gram in it. This should be continued until the mustard splutters. This has to be added to the coriander chutney.

The main attraction of these chutney recipes is the easy making. You need not go for any advanced preparations for making the dish. The special taste makes it a wonderful side dish for most Indian dishes.
