Sweets and delicacies are exchanged between friends and families. One of such mouthwatering sweets is the cashew nut barfi, which is savored among one and all alike. Here's how you can cashew nut barfi and add that special flavor to your Diwali menu.
In order to prepare cashew nut barfi you will 2 cups of sugar and cashew nuts, each. To add flavor you will need a cup full of ghee, and half a teaspoon of powdered cardamom. Last, but not the least, you will need some silver foil to use as a covering.
You need to grind the cashew nuts in a thick paste after you have soaked them for 4 hours in water. Then you must prepare syrup by boiling the sugar in water and add it to the cashew nut paste. Keep stirring the mixture in a low heat and include ghee. When the mixture is nicely cooked, pour into a greased container and use the silver foil for covering it. Cut the mixture in diamond shapes once it is cool. You will know the mixture is cooked once it starts getting loose from the vessel.
