Desserts are special items served to people, after the meal. Among all the popular desserts double ka Meetha is most famous. It’s a Hyderabad recipe, prepared with bread. Double ka Meetha is derived from Mughalai Cuisine’s Shahi Tukre. This dessert is tastier and sweet compared to any other item. Preparation of double ka Meetha doesn’t take more time that is why most of the people prefer it as evening sweet. Wedding caterers prepare double ka Meetha and serve it after the dinner in wedding reception. Double ka Meetha is tastier and easy to prepare because it requires sugar, bread, milk and water. This is the simple dessert of Hyderabad. People of Hyderabad love to eat this dessert in weekends.
Ingredients:
Bread pieces 5 or 6
Milk 1 1/2 cups
Sugar 1 cup
Double Cream 1/2 cup
Pure ghee 2tsp
Chopped and roasted cashew nuts 4 or 5
Almonds 4
Saffron 1tsp
Cardamom powdered (4 or 5)

Double ka Meetha is a sweet, so it does not require any accompaniment. In order to improve its taste and keep the things clean, you can serve fried bread along with double ka Meetha. Double ka Meetha can be taken after the meals, because it’s a sweet.
Preparation:
Cut the bread into small slices.
Keep the required items beside the stove.
Pour water and sugar in pan and mix them well.
Main Cooking:
Slice bread into small slices. Fry them in a pan until they turn golden brown.
On the other stove, put a pan and mix water and sugar well until dense syrup is formed. Boil the water and sugar at least for fifteen minutes.
Add saffron color to the syrup, note that saffron should be mixed in milk.
Add powdered cardamom to the syrup.
Boil milk until it becomes thick.
Arrange fried bread pieces on a flat tray and sprinkle chopped nuts over them.
Pour the sugar syrup, milk and double cream over the bread pieces and mix them well.
After the formed sweet gets cooled, keep it in refrigerator.
Once it gets cooled, dessert of your choice is ready to serve.
Presentation:
Take a round bowl and put the double ka Meetha in it. You can garnish it with cherries and cashew nuts. Double ka Meetha, should be served in a vessel, which has deep bottom. You should use a spoon in the bowl, so that it becomes easy for you to eat double ka Meetha.
